Christian Montenegro

Djeco Toys in Paris commissioned Christian Montenegro to create this illustrated world for a large childrens play mat. How much would I have loved this as a 6 year old kid with a bag full of corgi cars! See below for some pics of the illustrations used on Djeco's stands at trade fairs and the likes. The style of a Djeco product is truly distinctive; puzzles are intricately painted and finely detailed, pull toys whimsically designed to be somehow both hip and retro, while blocks are deeply saturated with color and simply formed. http://www.djeco.com

Noma Bar

Noma Bar creates a stack of editorial illustrations every week for international magazines and newspapers - but we got sent this one in the post this week and liked it enough to feature it up here on the news. It was commissioned for Field & Stream magazine in the US (A pretty hard-core hunting magazine) with great art direction by Neil Jamieson. Had a quick flick through as you do. An interesting read - but as a Londoner not much call for a monthly subscription.
