SHOUT Book launch - 'Illustri' Vicenza

Alessandro "Shout" Gottardo, one of the most popular and successful Italian illustrators in the world, returns to Vicenza (after participating at the first edition of "Illustri") with a solo exhibition, from the 25th of October 2014 until the 8th of December, that offers the best of his work, and several unpublished works.

The solo exhibition, with free admission, is set in the striking areas of Chiericati Underground: the basement of Palazzo Chiericati in Vicenza. The exhibition is curated by Ale Giorgini and organized by the Comune di Vicenza in collaboration with Associazione Yourban, Ale Giorgini and Andrea Ceroni, in range of events that will lead to Illustri Festival, the first edition of the biennial of illustration in program by the end of 2015.

Thanks to this exhibition, the basement of Palazzo Chiericati, home of the prestigious Civic Gallery will be a mixture of fresh and active contemporary art, in a very young environment with the classical and historical museum complex. The new exhibition brings together for the first time materials that illustrate the production of Shout in its various facets: the best of his illustrative work, already published in 2010 by Editions 279 in the book "Mono Shout" (now out of print and sought after by collectors), the series of portraits expressionist called Jetlag, already acclaimed in USA, the series of aquatints on displayed for the first time in Los Angeles in 2011 and some original unpublished works.

A big portion of the illustrative works in the exhibition are unreleased and a selection ofworks made in the period from 2010 to 2014. These works are also published for the first time in the book "On Shout" (published by 279 Editions), which makes it's first appearance in the library with an international distribution simultaneous with the exhibition.
