About Charlotte Trounce

Charlotte Trounce presents a new collection of paintings in No.3, a summer group exhibition at Morgans in Falmouth. Charlotte is an artist and illustrator based in Edinburgh. She graduated from University College Falmouth in 2011. Her return to the town gives this exhibition the character of a homecoming, with a fresh coat of paint. Charlotte has worked as an illustrator for over a decade.

Her commissions cover publishing, editorial work, advertising, product design and visual identities. Clients include Art Fund, the Barbican, Diptyque, Pinterest and The New York Review of Books.

Alongside this work, she has developed an independent painting practice through residencies in Italy and Japan and exhibitions in Germany and the UK.

About Morgans Gallery

Morgans is an art and design gallery inside a five-storey building overlooking Customs House Quay and Falmouth harbour. Its rooms are arranged around a glazed courtyard. The upper floors contain six artist studios and two pottery spaces. The gallery organises rotating exhibitions that place painters beside ceramicists, sculptors and furniture makers. Its programme has a strong connection to Cornwall, Falmouth University and artists working around the Cornish coast.

The other exhibiting artists

Charlotte shows alongside painters Martha Holmes, Iona Sanders, George Lloyd-Jones, Clara Holmes, Hannah Eavis and Jasmin Riva.

No.3 also introduces three artists to Morgans: painters Sophie May and Dror Cohen, and ceramicist Henry Bird. Wendy Wilbraham presents new tableware, while Daniel Miles contributes sculptural forms.

The exhibition brings painting, ceramics, domestic objects and sculpture into the same rooms, allowing visitors to compare how different materials carry an artist’s ideas.
