It’s a passion project that comes from our hearts, a story we believe will make a difference in people’s lives. It’s purpose? To spread awareness and support for children who are grieving the loss of a parent or sibling. And to give parents the tools to help those children be brave.

Such an honor to share The Golden Locket - the second animation in Kai’s Journey. An animated series to help children navigating the loss of a loved one. Sincere thanks Maya Rudolph for narrating these for us.
Created in partnership with Anomaly for the New York Life Foundation, these beautiful animations are produced with our friends at IV Studio over the course of this challenging year.
The animations serve as a resource and tool to open up dialogue with children and families working through grief and loss. All three of the stunning films, along with downloadable copies of the books are available through the NY Life Foundation.
For every download of the e-books, the New York Life Foundation are committed to donating $1 to nonprofits that support grieving children, including those affected by COVID-19, up to $350,000.

THE STORY
It is a cold day in Ireland, the 26th of December; frost lies thick on the blackthorn.
A man walks through the just-waking village, banging on every door, summoning the boys.
Today is St. Stephen's Day, when legend has it that the Saint was betrayed by a wren's call, and the boys are off to the forest where they hope to find the traitorous bird and capture it by nightfall.
But what will they do if their prey escapes them?
