The Art of Whiskey: Marc Burckhardt’s Vision for Still Austin’s Tanager Cigar Blend

In the world of whiskey, craftsmanship often extends beyond the barrel. For Still Austin’s latest release, the Tanager Cigar Blend Whiskey, the artistry begins not only in the spirit but in its presentation—a vivid and intricately designed homage to creativity by celebrated artist Marc Burckhardt.

Burckhardt, known for his ability to weave layered narratives through visual art, has been a long-time collaborator with Still Austin, crafting the symbolic red bird that graces the distillery’s branding. First seen in their Musician bourbon, the Tanager now soars as the central figure in this limited-edition whiskey, a blend of craft and story.

The packaging itself is an artwork. Over the past year, Burckhardt meticulously designed the bottle, capper, and a box that conceals hidden treasures. Inside, his detailed illustrations reveal the Tanager’s origin story, inviting whiskey enthusiasts to uncover the artistry behind the spirit.

The whiskey, crafted from Red, White, and Blue Corn using the rare petites eaux technique, reflects the same precision seen in Burckhardt’s designs. With a limited release starting December 6th, the Tanager Cigar Blend promises to be as unforgettable as the art that frames it.
