Simone Massoni x Mr Porter — Gifts All Wrapped Up
Illustrated by Simone Massoni and animated by Animade, Gifts All Wrapped Up is a festive collaboration between Mr Porter and Net-A-Porter that brings their luxury holiday shopping experience to life through a playful, character-driven animated world. The project was produced and managed by Dutch Uncle.
At the centre of the campaign is a one-minute animated film—set to a jaunty jazz rendition of “Oh Christmas Tree”—featuring a cast of charming, hand-drawn characters who guide viewers through how gifts are selected, wrapped, and delivered in the brands’ signature packaging.

Beyond the hero animation, the campaign extended into printed gift guides, interactive assets, GIFs, and a complete character set, all illustrated by Massoni. These visuals appeared across the global social channels of both Mr Porter and Net-A-Porter, as well as across lifestyle and fashion media.
The illustrated world even stepped out into the real world—Massoni’s characters wrapped around a fleet of London black cabs and Hong Kong trams as part of the seasonal rollout.
A Hand-Drawn Animation Built With Craft
Because of the delicacy of Simone Massoni’s linework, Animade produced the film using traditional hand-drawn cel animation. Fourteen animators worked across the production, with each scene moving through keys, line tests, colour, and compositing. The most intricate moment—an elaborate conveyor belt full of products—was brought to life using object assets and detailed character poses supplied by Simone.
Campaign Reach
The campaign received international attention, appearing across major outlets including Esquire, Vanity Fair, and The New York Times, as well as the brands’ own global channels. Fans responded enthusiastically across social—just browse the hashtag #holidayswiththeporters to see the worldwide reaction.
