Alessandro Gottardo, known professionally as SHOUT, is an Italian illustrator celebrated for his minimalist yet conceptually rich imagery that transforms complex ideas into elegant visual metaphors. Born in Pordenone in 1977, he studied at a specialist art high school in Venice and later at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan.
His refined compositions—characterized by clean geometry, muted tones, and subtle surrealism—have earned him international acclaim, including Gold and Silver medals from the Society of Illustrators and the Society of Publication Designers. Based in Milan, SHOUT’s work has appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times, and The Economist, and he currently serves on the Board of Directors and Special Committee of the Society of Illustrators in New York, reflecting his standing as one of the most influential contemporary voices in illustration today.
