Javi Aznarez is a celebrated Spanish painter and illustrator based in Barcelona, whose striking, graphic style and subtle humour have earned him international recognition, most notably for his work on Wes Anderson’s Hollywood film The French Dispatch.

Javi spent his school years escaping boredom through drawing, inspired by Tintin, Asterix, and the works of Argentine cartoonist Quino. After completing business school, he pursued his true passion at Escola Joso, Barcelona’s renowned comics and visual-arts academy, where his distinctive Hergé-inspired ligne claire style began to take shape.

Known for his sharp wit and the small, engaging details that animate each scene, his work spans books, exhibitions, and storyboards for major publications and brands including Vogue and The New Yorker, blending cinematic storytelling with a timeless sense of European artistry.
